Mason Jennings – Double Down Live (1/28/2012)

Three weeks ago I began planning a trip to Tallahassee in order to retrieve my dog (as I mentioned in my previous post on the Mike Blankenship Skate Park). I got curious as to what was going on up north and discovered Mason Jennings was performing at the Double Down in Gainesville. Being a huge fan I made the necessary arrangements to get to the Double Down in time for the show and booked a pet friendly hotel where my doggie and I could crash for the night.

Sebadoh – Grand Central (1/18/2012)

By the time you read this the Weezer Cruise will have already pulled into port and 99 per cent of the bands will be gone from Miami. I want to thank Weezer for allowing Sebadoh on the cruise which led to their pre-cruise performance at Grand Central!

In the year and a half that Grand Central has been up and running, they have proven to be an asset to Downtown Miami, filling a void for events too small for the AA arena but too large for all other venues in the 305. Another special factor that sets the club apart… (click for more)

The Dead Kenny G’s – Hurricane Bar & Lounge (1/15/12)

“We are the Dead Kenny G’s” shouted Skerik before he, drummer Mike Dillon, and bassist/ baritone sax player Brad Houser, launched into a freaky jazz jam. The patrons of the packed Hurricane Bar and Lounge starred in amazement, most of whom must not have expected what they were witnessing. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, as the show was billed “Skerik and Friends” as a post Jam Cruise event. Skerik is the nuttiest saxophonist in the world! ArtPalmBeach is one of the most exciting and exceptional art festivals in West Palm Beach. It typically hosts around 70 gallery exhibits and individual artist displays.
