Truth be told, I am not a fan of crowded spaces and the hysteria involved with major fairs like Art Basel. I do make an effort to muster up the strength to deal with these situations on occasion, for my love of art. If I can avoid dealing with crowds and traffic, I take the path of least resistance. The permanent space is located in the former Payless Shoe Source store in Downtown Miami. Void Projects have utilized three floors of the once upon a time mega retail location and converted it into a highly refined exhibition. The collective, made up of both local Miami and international heavies, display a variety of techniques and mediums that meld together like a band of brothers and sisters.
As Art Week winds down, Downtown Miami is filled with great alternatives to being stranded on 395 to get to the popular fairs. A couple of positive aspects that set Void Projects apart from the other fairs is their late hours (open until 10pm tonight) and special programing, which include live musical performances like the bring your own record party tonight. Visiting Void Projects is a definite recommendation on our part, you can find them at 141 E Flagler St, Miami. Please get out there before Art Week ends, you may get to meet some of the friendly members of the crew.
